Tiling

The construction industry is currently short of skilled tradesmen, this course will assist in giving you the opportunity to start your business and gain excellent financial rewards.

The aim of this course is to give you all the basic skills of tiling for your own home or take further and develop your own tiling business.

We have recently introduced women only courses and also two day advanced tiling course. Please call for further info or come into the training centre.

Course Content

• Introduction to tools of the trade and safe use
• Identifying and working on a poor uneven surface
• Setting out the job
• Selecting and applying the correct adhesive
• The procedure of fixing wall tiles and tiling to window reveal
• The procedure of fixing floor tiles
• Overcoming obstacles – cutting tiles around soil pipes and shower feeds, plug sockets, sinks and toilets
• Explaination of different aspects of tiling, mosaics, diamond pattern and use of silicon
• Getting started – how to set out a quote, measure up and price a job and how to best market your business
• Drilling and cutting, slate, porcelain and ceramic tiles

Course Duration

You have the choice of the following courses available:

4 days Monday to Thursday 9.30am – 5.00pm
Or
4 days Saturday – Sunday 9.30am – 5.00pm
(running over two consecutive weekends)
